For now I shall just mention a few things to do I with my art collective.

We are called U:1 and we are exhibiting in Bristol from Sunday the 27th March to the 9th April!

Also we are organising and taking part in a Charity Art Auction to raise money for the Japan earthquake and tsunami victims. The auction will take place at the Bbar Plymouth on Monday 11th April from 8pm. We would love for as many people as possible to come along and buy some art because the money is going towards a very good cause.

Some previews of my work for the auction will be available in a few days.

Whimsy folk to the rescue!

If you've got the January blues, you should go and see a whimsical folk band.
I went to see Pentorr Duo (soon to be renamed) at Barley Folk, (Barley Sheaf) Liskeard and their folky tunes (one about automatic mice) cheered me up. I even did some semi-blind contour drawings of them. :)

Some good news for me, I sold four paintings at my last exhibition which was at the Bbar in Plymouth - three out four of those sold are pictured (not very well) here -

Below is a painting that I created as a present for my mum- the original image was of her and her sister when they were about my age.

Also, U:1 Artist collective are currently working towards another exhibition- the theme is 'feeling insignificant in a vast space'. We're working on a better title. So look out for that in March.

Another U:1 related thing - I will be starting a U:1 blog soon, so keep a lookout for that.

Well, i think that's everything. I hope all your lives are happy!

Fancy dress life drawings!

Hello again! As part of U:1 art collective I take part in some interesting workshops. One of the more recent ones was 'fancy dress life drawing'. (Although there were more bizarre head adornments than costumes) but it was very fun. The extra bits of cloth and accesories made for some curious results.

Anyway, here are some of my semi-blind contour fancy dress life drawings for you to look at - i hope you like. :)

And here is another doodle by me

I'm working hard creating work for an exhibition at Barbican B Bar, Plymouth. It's an exhibition of work from a collection of artists and it runs from 8th December til the end of January. I'll post the flyer up soooon! I'd love it If you came along to see!

Thankyou for reading! Have a nice daaaay!

There we go! The other paintings.

Hello again! I've figured it out and now here are the other two paintings. Hooray!

Motorcycle Ride, mixed media, 2010

Forest Dweller, mixed media, 2010
The second image is actually upside down. As I was preparing it for its journey across the pond, I noticed that upside down there seems to be a rather sinister looking character wih red hair and a green hat, and a long pointy nose. Quite fairytale like. Reminds me of Fagin from Oliver Twist. I think its better upside down.

Anyway, that's enough from me! Ciao!

Welcome me and everyone... to my arty blog!

Hello there! This is my first blog... what to say?

Oh yes, as it says in my 'about me' section, I am indeed, an artist. And it's true I do love hats... I have many.  I am based in south east Cornwall/Plymouth area. I am part of an art collective called U:1 studios, and we often have exhibitions in venues around Plymouth and I wil let you know about them as they get organised.

In my last exhibition I managed to sell three of my drawings to a hollywood actor. So at present, my drawings are flying over to LA as I speak. Or maybe they are still sat in the Royal Mail post office in Basingstoke.
I thought I would post up one of those paintings on this 'ere blog. Let me know what you think. :)

Cobbled Winter Walks, mixed media, 2010

I'll post up the rest once I've figured out how to post more than one image in one post. (sorry).

Thankyou thankyou thankyou for looking at/reading my blog. I hope you are all swell! x
